Again, let’s undo the kingly taxation power and control, this time from Washington D.C. by repealing the 16th Amendment (direct taxation) and ending the income tax, the I.R.S., payroll taxes plus more as proposed with passage of the FAIRtax Act HR 25.
July 4th 2026 will mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence “…We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” The Declaration started the revolutionary war that ended with the king losing his power and control to rule and tax. Eleven years later in1787, using the Declaration of Independence’s defining principals, the U.S. Constitution was completed to create the new government that ‘Derives its power from the consent of the governed.’
Continue to Feb. 3rd, 1913, with the ratification of the 16th Amendment, “The Congress shall have the power to lay and collect taxes on income, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.” Hence the kingly crown of taxation power and control is placed on the heads of Washington D.C. We now have the income tax, payroll taxes, the I.R.S. The federal income/payroll tax system has many problems, bad practices and deceptions.

This nonpartisan legislation (HR 25) abolishes all federal personal and corporate income taxes, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, and self-employment taxes and replaces them with one simple, visible, federal retail sales tax – administered primarily by existing state sales tax authorities.
The IRS is disbanded and defunded. The FAIRtax taxes us only on what we choose to spend on new goods and services, not on what we earn.
The FAIRtax is a pay as you spend tax on all new goods and services. With spending you control when you pay the tax, the tax amount paid and your effective tax rate.
With the Prebate the net tax rate starts below zero and progresses up to a maximum of 23%. There is no annual income tax filing. Tax tables no longer divide us into classes.
The FAIRtax is a fair, efficient, transparent, and intelligent solution to the frustration and inequity of our current tax system. The FAIRtax moves the tax base from production (income, savings and investments) to a larger and more stable tax base on consumption.
The funding for both Social Security and Medicare, without changes, would be covered by the FAIRtax tax system for the foreseeable future.
